  • Anyone with a valid Vermont Medical Cannabis Card is able to access these new services and products. Per the Vermont Cannabis Control Board (VCCB), patients will need to present a valid Medical Cannabis Card as well as a second valid form of government-issued ID (driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport, etc.) to access medical cannabis and consultation services.

  • No. Medical Card Holders are exempt from paying sales, local option and the cannabis excise taxes. Patients may also purchase any of Capital Cannabis’ 500+ recreational offerings tax free!

  • Possession Limit: You may possess up to 2 ounces of usable cannabis at one time. Purchase Limit: You may purchase up to 6 ounces of dried, processed cannabis or its equivalent within any 30-day period. Dosing Limit (per serving): Single servings of medical cannabis products may not contain more than 100 mg of THC. For equivalency, 3.5 grams of raw cannabis generally equates to 1 gram of concentrate or 100 milligrams of cannabis-infused products.

    Obtaining a Vermont medical cannabis card involves several steps: Healthcare Professional Recommendation - You must first obtain a written recommendation from a licensed healthcare practitioner. This professional will complete a Health Care Professional Verification Form after assessing you for a qualifying debilitating medical condition. Application Submission - You can apply online by creating an account on the Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB) online portal, or mail a paper application. Required Documents - Submit the completed patient application form, the Health Care Professional Verification Form, a digital passport-style photo, and a copy of your valid Vermont driver’s license or non-driver ID. Application Fee - A non-refundable $50 fee is required, good for 3 years. Online applications require credit/debit card payments, while mail-in applications accept checks or money orders. Caregiver (if applicable) - If you have a caregiver, they must also submit a separate caregiver application. Review and Issuance - The CCB staff will review and process your completed application. If approved, your registry identification card will be mailed to the address provided. The card is valid for three years.
